Nakbah Week/Thanks Ben

Nakbah week was interesting in itself. I had went to some of the events and film screenings and was pleased to learn something new each time. But what really stood out and taught me a lot was when my friend Ben accepted an invitation to come with me and attend a lecture by a professor from Jerusalem (Palestinian). The topic or theme of the presentation was about al-Quds mosque. Throughout the lecture I could sense Ben was uncomfortable but I kept telling him keep in open mind and just listen. I did not expect him to convert his way of thoughts or accept what was being said but I did want him to actively listen to what the other side had to say or what they present either it being right or wrong. I do have to say Ben did a great job in doing so. I have to say I had a new sense of appreciation for him for allowing himself to be in an intimidating environment where the room was mainly Arabs and majority were of Palestinian descent. Not only did he hold his composure but was able to enjoy dinner with us and have a conversation with some of the attendees. Thank you Ben!!!
